YORK 18 SAIL PLAN

We have just been commissioned to design another classic sailing yacht based upon, but larger than, our PAINE 14. The YORK 18 will have a fiberglass hull and decks, but will be trimmed out in teak to look exactly like the PAINE 14. This yacht will be fast, elegant, valuable (meaning far from cheap), safe (unsinkable), trailerable, and just the right size to bring home for winter storage. Like French & Webb’s 14-footer her mast will be of carbon fiber, unstayed, and light enough for a single person to easily put into place. With her hull speed of over five knots she’s fast enough to do a lot of coastal touring, and at 1600 pounds she could be towed anyplace in the country behind a reasonably large passenger vehicle.
