It is with sadness that I report the passing of Doug Thompson. He built ERICA in 2005. Doug was never happier than when he was aboard his beloved ERICA. He was one of the kindest clients we ever dealt with, and I will remember him with great fondness.
Billy Black sent me this photo of Wings of Grace–one of my masterpieces. Has
there ever been a yacht more gorgeous, or that sailed so well?
Yachting Magazine was kind enough to publish the second excerpt from my book. However, they were unable to publish the entire second half of the introduction. So here for your reading pleasure is the original text from the book. The book may now be ordered, with shipping to begin on June 1.
It really does exist. And it’s lovely! No, you can’t have yours yet. This is a sample copy that was FedExed to me from the printer in South Korea. Your copy is coming by sea for a promised arrival date around May 19. It will be worth waiting for.

“Dear Chuck,
What a wonderful article in Yachting.
I just read your introduction in Yachting and both cried and laughed. Can’t wait for the book. Some years back, my wife and I talked with you about Meridian. We have always loved your designs.”
